NCA Investigators Testifies Against Former Lands Minister

BY OUR REPORTER

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) investigator Isaac Nkhoma on tuesday told the High Court in Lilongwe that a National Crimes Agency (NCA)investigator from United Kingdom ( UK), personally visited ACB offices to share information on the link between investigations relating to businessperson, Zuneth Sattar and former Lands minister Kezzie Msukwa.

Nkhoma, the only witness for the bureau, was responding to questions during cross-examination in the ongoing judicial review application case.

Lead lawyer for the claimant Chimwemwe Kalua asked Nkhoma to explain how ACB obtained the information.

According to Nkhoma ACB and NCA entered into an agreement between July and October 2021 to be sharing information regarding a wide range of issues relating to corruption and bribery.
But when asked why ACB did not furnish the court with copies of the agreement, Nkhoma said it seemed irrelevant at the time.

Kalua also asked Nkhoma whether ACB had initially obtained a consent from the office of Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to prosecute the case to which Nkhoma responded that the matter was discussed at a higher level .

Meanwhile Judge Redson Kapindu has adjourned the case to allow both parties to make written submissions by Friday this week before the Court sets date for ruling.
