Zikhale Appeals For Unity to Achieve Socioeconomic Development

Members of Parliament have been called upon to rise above petty issues and contribute towards the socio-economic development of the and erradicating poverty

Speaking in Parliament on Monday, Nkhatabay South legislator, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma observed that some parliamentarians on the opposition side do not provide constructive ideas just to score their political agendas.

In his words, Ng’oma emphasized the need to break political cultures that have derailed socioeconomic growth.

“We have a national development plan which needs each one of us in parliament to contribute to, our colleagues in the opposition have better ideas that can help our economy to grow,” Ng’oma said.

The Nkhatabay-South legislature further observed that some parliamentarians are hiding vital information waiting for the campaign period for them to look wise.

Meanwhile Political analyst George Phiri faulted those championing trivial political agendas at the expense of marginalized rural masses.

“Both sides in parliament should consider contributing to the growth of the country, everyone in the August house is accountable when it comes to the developmental growth of our nation,” Phiri stated

The parliament is currently meeting in Lilongwe discussing the 2022 financial budget which was presented by Finance Minister, Sosten Gwengwe a couple of weeks ago.
