Netball Queens Hosted To The State Breakfast

Her Excellency the First Lady, Madam Monica Chakwera has this morning hosted the Malawi National Netball team, the Queens to breakfast at Kamuzu Palace in the capital city, Lilongwe.

The breakfast was held in recognition of the team’s triumphant display during the Confederation of Southern Africa Netball Association (COSANA) Tri-Nations Series involving Zimbabwe, Namibia and the hosts, Malawi in which the Queens emerged champions without tasting defeat.

In her speech, the First Lady challenges the nëtball Queens to remain focused and continue aiming high and record their names in the country’s records of successful people.

“It is always pleasing to see you our netball queens doing wonders in all competitions far and beyond, we shall always support you wherever you go,” Madam Chakwera said

Sports minister, Richard Chimwendo Banda said the government is doing everything possible to make sure sports including netball developed in the country

In their final game of the series, the Malawi National Netball Team defeated Namibia, the Desert Jewels by 49 baskets to 36 in a thrilling encounter played at the KUHES Sports Complex in Blantyre.

Achievers at home

The result meant the Queens finished the Tri-Nations series games without any loss after registering six wins from six matches.
