The Malawi Human Rights Commission (MHRC) executive secretary, Habiba Osman has described former cabinet minister, Reen Kachere, who died on Monday morning, as a prolific women’s rights advocate.
Osman said the late Kachere, who was a human rights activist, pioneered so much in the human rights space including fighting for women to be in decision-making positions.
“She was also the first advocate to challenge some executive decisions that were undemocratic in the multiparty era.”
According to family relations, Kachere succumbed to diabetes
