The Think-Tank Statement On Martha Chizuma’s Fresh Law Suit

The Think Tank has learned with shock of fresh lawsuit against the ACB Director General Ms Martha Chizuma.

She was to appear before the Chief Magistrate Court in Lilongwe this morning but case has been adjuned to tomorrow Friday 27/01/23.

The latest lawsuits against the ACB Director General Ms Martha Chizuma is from a High Court Judge.

ACB Director General Ms Martha Chizuma’s legal counsel Martha Kaukonde has confirmed this latest developments.

The Think Tank is not surprised with such unfortunate unfolding developments.

The Commission of Inquiry Report presented to the state president suggested that those who felt injured by the January 2022 leaked audio where the ACB Director General Ms Martha Chizuma was talking to her male friend can seek justice in Court.

That statement was misplaced because the state president made it very clear that he has forgiven the ACB Direct over the said leaked audio and that the matter was water under the bridge, meaning it’s a closed matter.

During the nation address on the Commission of Inquiry Report on Chizuma’s arrest, the state president repeated his earlier statement that he stands by the ACB Director General Ms Martha Chizuma as the ACB Director General and that his trust on her as ACB DG has not changed.

Suffice to say The Think Tank, Malawians of good will, the International Community, the Donor and Bilateral Partners are not surprised with these latest lawsuits against the ACB Director General by those who felt injured by the leaked audio because;

1- The Think Tank is of the view that these latest lawsuits against the ACB Director General is a result of the suggestion in the Commission of Inquiry Report presented to the state president that those who felt injured by the leaked audio can seek justice in Court.

2- Unfortunately the state president repeated the same statement.

3- Those alleged to have benefitted from Sattar’s massive looting of public resources and taxes have now intensified the fight against the ACB Director General Ms Martha Chizuma.

It was wrong to suggest that those who felt injured by the January 2022 Chizuma’s leaked audio should “SEEK JUSTICE IN COURT AGAINST THE ACB DIRECTOR GENERAL”!

What is more surprising and raises eyebrows is that the Commission of Inquiry, the state president and those who felt injured by the leaked audio are only talking about seeking justice against the ACB Director General Ms Martha Chizuma and nothing is being said against the person who recorded the ACB Director General and leaked the audio!

However, The Think Tank feels that these latest lawsuits against the ACB Director General Ms Martha Chizuma is a blessing in disguise.

Those alleged to have benefitted from Sattar’s massive looting of public resources and taxes are exposing themselves .

It is a blessing in disguise for the general public, International Community, the Donor and Bilateral Partners to know who are shielding Sattar and other corrupt suspects in MALAWI.

Fellow Malawians, The Think Tank would like to repeat it’s earlier statement that the Fight Against Corruption, Fraud, Money Laundering and Financing Acts of Terrorism is a global fight; no nation, Malawi inclusive, can shield those involved and get away with their scheme.

Shielding Sattar and colleagues is a very dangerous, miscalculated path and political suicide any government or leader in the world can dare to do.

The Think Tank is once again calling upon our respected and beloved state president HE Rev Dr Lazarus M Chakwera’s MCP Tonse Alliance administration to “WALK THE TALK” and demonstrate it’s seriousness on the Fight Against Corruption, Fraud, Money Laundering and Financing Acts of Terrorism.

The Think Tank is further applauding the state president on the independence of the ACB and hope his government is working closely with the ACB to bringing to book all corrupt suspects.

It is undeniable fact that the International Community, Malawi Donor and Bilateral Partners are “CLOSELY” watching these lawsuits against the ACB Director General Ms Martha Chizuma.

Corruption, Fraud, Money Laundering and Financing Acts of Terrorism is a very serious and dangerous organized crime involving local and international Economic Hit Men (EHM)

The Think Tank would therefore once again like to call upon Malawians of good will, the International Community, the Donor and Bilateral Partners to hold hands with the state president HE Rev Dr Lazarus M Chakwera in the Fight Against Corruption, Fraud, Money Laundering and Financing Acts of Terrorism.

  • God Bless our leader
  • God Bless our Nation
  • God Bless MALAWI.
