Government To Procure Street Cameras

Minister of Transport and Public works, Jacob Hara says his ministry will procure cameras that will be checking the speed limit in all built-up areas along the road.

The transport and public works minister disclosed this in Parliament on Tuesday, when updating the House on what the ministry is doing to reduce road accidents along the country’s trading centres.

Hara said the process of procuring the devices is already at an advanced stage

Speaking to the media Hara said “the cameras will be correcting offences and charging users directly and that fine shall be paid within 28 days”.
