‘We mourn The Life Of a Great Monarch’ – Chakwera

Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain His Excellency, Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera went to sign the book of condolence at the United Kingdom’s High Commission

Accompanied by some top government officials the Malawi leader went and signed a book of condolences to His Majesty King Charles III, the British People and the whole Commonwealth on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Writing on his Official Government Facebook page Chakwera said, “I was welcomed at the British High Commission by Mr. David Pert, the United Kingdom’s Deputy High Commissioner to Malawi”.

Around lunchtime on Thursday the Royal family communicated to the world about the poor health condition of the Queen and nd some hours later the  British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) announced her death.

The Queen, who was 96, died at Balmoral on Thursday afternoon, September 8, 2022 and the tragic news came hours after Buckingham Palace issued a statement, at 12.32pm, saying doctors were very concerned with her health.
