Karonga United Banks Hope On Reserve Side
Following a humiliative 0-4 demolition in the hands of Ekwendeni Hammers FC,
Karonga United aims at embarking on a rebuilding exercise in order to strengthen the team with players from its Reserve side.
The hope on the reserve side players comes following the youthful side’s impressive show in this year’s Unayo and First Capital cup games which has put some new recruits in limelight showcasing their talents.
One of Karonga United Football Club staunch followers, Isaac ‘Ndundu’ Kaperemera had no any kind words for the leadership of the club for continued scouting recycled players from elsewhere hence weakening the side into a social football club.
“Karonga United is currently using recycled players who are failing to reach the required competitive heights and standards at that elite level, we must nurture our own talent and strengthen the team with home grown youthful talented players,” said Ndundi.
Responding to Kaperemera assertion, the Technical Director Karonga United FC, Alufeyo Deacon Chipanga said indeed time has come when the team will be promoting players from its Reserve side to bolster the squad.
“It was a matters time, now we can promote some talented Footballers from our junior team who have shown the intent and ability to cope with pressure at that Super League level,” Chipanga said.
However, Chipanga has also expressed disappointment with some poachers who have already facilitated moves for two of their Reserve side players who have been located at the Lalli Lubani road outfit, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Reserves.
Meanwhile, the promising Karonga United Reserve team is performing wonders in both Standard Bank Unayo and Nyasa Capital Finance Cup under the tutelage of the youth football training specialist, Christopher Chimkwita.
