Hostel land excites youth organization

Ekwaiweni Tafika Youth Organisation has expressed its excitement after securing a land where they intend to construct a hostel to ease accommodation problems for students at University of Livingstonia in Mzimba district.
Apart from lessening accommodation problems at this institution which has also school of health sciences, the move will also help the organization to be generating funds out of rent fees that occupants will be paying.
Speaking in an interview on Monday after mapping survey of the land, Executive Director for Ekwaiweni Tafika Youth Organisation, Shupo Kumwenda, said as the organization they believe that through this initiative they will increase youth participation in various socioeconomic development activities.
“We are very excited to accomplish our efforts in coming up with structure that will maximize youth participation in socioeconomic development. We’ll be reaching to many youths including those staying in hard to reach areas through funds we’ll be generating,” said Kumwenda.
In a separate interview, the Lands Officer for the Northern Region, Richard Nyasulu, commended the organization for securing the plot using the rightful legal processes.
“The map for the plot will soon be issued having passing through all the duly legal services,” Nyasulu said.
Representative for the Sub-Traditional Authority Yohane Jere expressed relief with the map survey process which he said will ensure safety of the land secured.
