More Nankhumwa Endorsements Coming Up

As the year 2022 draws near the end inching closer to the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) convention the Parliamentarian for Mulanje Central and Leader of Opposition in Parliament, Dr Kondwani Nankhumwa continues to get more endorsements as a torch bearer to lead the Party in the 2025 presidential election.

Meanwhile, the Director of Operations in the DPP, Joe Thomas Nyirongo has also come out from his cocoons and endorsed Nankhumwa and the Rumphi Parliamentarian, Jappie Mhango as candidates on the positions of party president and running mate in the 2025 presidential poll.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, Nyirongo said the dust has now settled after all the party presidential aspirants have visited party structures in all the four political regions of the country hence his Endorsements which he said are based on merit.

“After a thorough scrutiny of all the aspiring presidential candidates on the position of president and his vice who will automatically become running mate in the 2025 polls, I have decided to endorse Kondwani Nankhumwa and Jappie Mhango,” said Nyirongo.

He added saying the new party constitution requires only those who have been actively involved in politics to seek votes at the elective party convention to be held early next year (2023) and the two gentlemen qualifies more than the rest of the candidates.

There are no immediate reactions from either the party’s secretary General, Griselda Jeffrey or the party’s president, Peter Mutharika’s spokesperson, Shadreck Namalomba on the endorsement made by the Director of Operations.
