Bridgin Foundation Fooled Malawi Leadership – Gwengwe.

The Finance Minister, Sosten Gwengwe has described as nonsense the purported agreement president Lazarus Chakwera signed with the Belgium based Bridgin Foundation which was expected to benefit a number of projects in the country.
During the signing of the agreement at Kamuzu Palace Malawi’s late last year, finance minister Sosten Gwengwe said the $6.8Billion grant, about (MK7 trillion) government could get from Belgium based Bridgin Foundation could be used to improve infrastructure in sectors such as Education, Health and energy
Ironically , on Wednesday Gwengwe told the nation that there is no US$6.8 billion (over K7 trillion) grant agreement between Malawi and Belgium-based Bridgin Foundation.
But during the grant signing ceremony Gwengwe said some of the first phase projects include construction of Inkosi Yamakosi M’mbelwa (Mombela) University and construction of Bioscience, agro-processing and fertilizer manufacturing plants at LUANAR, Lilongwe campus.

Meanwhile, Gwengwe has assured the nation that government will not be required to repay the grant.
