Maurice Munthali Is Ungrateful – Zikhale
The Homeland Security Minister who is also Malawi Congress Party (MCP) director of strategic planning, Ken Zikhale Ng’oma says the former party Publicity Secretary, Reverend Maurice Munthali’s resignation is a sign of greed and frustration.
In an interview on the sidelines of a development rally he conducted at Area 1B in Mzuzu City, Ng’oma said Munthali’s resignation has come at a wrong time when he has just recovered from illness after receiving treatment in Delhi, India funded by president Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera.
“I can challenge Maurice Munthali to come out and report any wrong doing he has seen taking place in government, he has his own ambitions which have not been fulfilled and his resignation is a clear demonstration of greed and failure to be thankful,” Zikhale said.
He further blasted the former party publicist saying if there was an individual who could be the last to dump the MCP then Munthali would have been the very first, however he quickly wished him well wherever he will revive his political career.
In his resignation letter Munthali sighted corruption among top government officials as one of the reasons that has led to his resignation from the position of senior presidential advisor to Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera and that of MCP publicity Secretary.
