Hara Elected New Mzuzu Golf Club President
The Football Association of Malawi’s 2nd Vice president, Othaniel Hara has on Sunday been elected the new Mzuzu Golf Club president.
Hara trounced his competitor, Dr Ntafu Manda by 22 votes to 13.
To seek election the FAM 2nd Vice president had first to seek nomination which was provided by a club member, Yussuf Mzaliwa while his competitor was nominated by another Club member, the High Court Judge Dingiswayo Madise.
In his acceptance speech Hara assured golf enthusiasts in the Northern region that his leadership will ensure a quick completion of construction works of the fence being built around the golf field aimed at dealing away with encroachments.
“We will quickly finalise all the construction works and preparations of the golf course itself so that competitive golf should quickly return to the sport starved field,” Hara stressed.
The full newly elected Mzuzu Golf Club executive committee is now as follows:
