Lung Complication Keeps A Woman On hospital bed For 16 Months

A Nancholi 32 year old in Blantyre, Magret Phiri has been on the sick bed in ward 4A at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in the city, for a year and four months.

The mother of four was diagnosed with lung problems and she will be on oxygen support for life unless her lungs are replaced.

“I came here in January last year when I was experiencing breathing problems. I was put on oxygen till today. I cannot stay without oxygen for over five minutes. This is why I have been here for a year and months,” she said.

Phiri said she was looking for well-wishers to help her with an oxygen concentrator machine and install her house with electricity and solar power as backup so that she can go home.

She said: “Doctors say the only time they can allow me to stay home is when an oxygen machine is provided with a house which has electricity throughout. I am asking people to help me through 0882156651 or 0984828662.”
