The Presidential Diary, Chakwera Writes

Lilongwe, Malawi: The First Lady and I are delighted to welcome Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, who responded favourably to my invitation for a three-day State visit.
Her Excellency Suluhu Hassan is our guest of honour during the 59th independence anniversary commemoration commencing today with a national service of worship.
Besides the annual celebrations, this visit is timely for it accords us an opportunity to strengthen bilateral ties and outline new areas of cooperation in a mutual bid to spur sustainable development.
We expect – during the slated bilateral talks – to reinforce diplomatic and development cooperation as per several agreements under the Malawi-Tanzania Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation (JPCC).
Takulandirani Your Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
