Block-Leaders Engage Parliamentarians on Development Projects.

Member of Parliament for Mzuzu City, Bennex Mwamlima over the weekend took Senior Block-Leaders from all the wards in the city to appreciate the infrastructure development projects taking place in the city.

The engagement comes as one way of soliciting views on the progress in the implementation of the Urban Structure Plan which provides for an engagement with local leaders to assess development progress being made in their city.

“My representation of Mzuzu City in the House of Assembly depends on consultations with senior citizens, people-centred development is paramount for socio-economic development in line with the Malawi Growth Strategy 2063 and the United Nations Development Agenda,” said Mwamlima.

The chairperson of the Senior Block Leaders Network, Thomas Bonaventure Mvula expressed gratitude indicating that the infrastructure projects under construction are meeting the standards expected for a city like Mzuzu.

“This kind of collaboration and feedback is essential for the effective implementation of development initiatives,” said Mvula.

The journey took the leaders to several infrastructure development projects under construction which included; schools, city roads, the New Mzuzu City Centre and probably the largest library in the SADC region being constructed at the Mzuzu University.
