Constituents Wants Businessman Ian Lyton Changa Kaunda To Contest On MCP Ticket
Residents of Nkhatabay Central Constituency, last weekend expressed excitement as senior Malawi Congress Party (MCP) officials unveiled Ian Lyton Changa Kaunda as a contender for next year’s parliamentary election.
Popularly known as “Changa K,” and beloved in Nkhatabay Central for his philanthropy and commitment to improving constituents’ lives, Kaunda, a well-known business tycoon manages a fleet of cars and impressive buildings in Blantyre, and is set to run on the MCP ticket.
The decision to nominate Kaunda has garnered overwhelming support from constituents, who see him as the ideal candidate to champion their interests in parliament.
At a recent MCP rally in Nkhata-Bay, Kaunda was formally introduced by MCP National Executive Committee officials, Catherine Gotani Hara and Kenneth Zikhale Ng’oma, along with MCP north-north regional chairperson, Joseph Chavula.
The development has thus sparked excitement and anticipation among voters.
Kaunda is poised to tour the constituency, engaging with local leaders and residents, aiming to sway undecided voters disillusioned by stalled development projects due to political disputes.
