Chakwera Unveils State-of-the-Art CREATOR Building at KUHeS
In a significant milestone for Malawi’s healthcare sector, President Lazarus Chakwera officially commissioned the Clinical Research Excellence and Training Open Resource (CREATOR) Building at the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) Sports Complex in Blantyre on Wednesday.
The CREATOR Building is a cutting-edge facility designed to provide advanced training for postgraduate specialist doctors and research scientists.
This innovative hub aims to enhance the country’s healthcare capabilities, fostering excellence in medical research, education, and patient care.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, President Chakwera emphasized the importance of investing in healthcare infrastructure and human capital.
“This facility represents a significant leap forward in our quest to strengthen Malawi’s healthcare system. By empowering our healthcare professionals with world-class training and research opportunities, we are building a brighter future for our nation.” Said Chakwera.
The CREATOR Building boasts state-of-the-art laboratories, lecture theaters, and research spaces, providing an ideal environment for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation offering specialized training programs, workshops, and conferences, cementing KUHeS’s position as a regional leader in healthcare education and research.
Vice-Chancellor of KUHeS, Professor Francis Kamwendo, expressed gratitude to the government and development partners for their support.
