Among the projects cited by PFN are: the proposed Mzuzu Airport project, which was expected to improve connectivity and boost tourism has encountered setbacks whose completion could enhance regional accessibility.

Mahlopa also expressed concerns stating that: “the establishment of Mombela University still faces administrative hurdles, hindering educational and employment opportunities in the region hence PFN calling for swift action to address these challenges.
“The road connecting Livingstonia and Njakwa has languished in the planning stage. PFN stressed the importance of efficient road networks for economic development,”
Refusing any political attachment the grouping also lamented on the pathetic condition of the Nyika-Nthalire road. Another critical project that could connect Nyika and Nthalire, but seen delayed. PFN urging stakeholders to expedite construction to improve transportation links.
In addition, the grouping has provided a solution-oriented approach suggesting that local communities should take the initiative to develop the region, proposing that community-led efforts combined with effective lobbying, can drive tangible projects forward by actively participating in development, believes the region can overcome obstacles and achieve sustainable growth.
The government and relevant authorities are yet to respond to PFN’s concerns, but the group’s call for proactive community involvement continues sparkling discussions about grassroots development strategies.
Meanwhile, as part of his administration’s commitment to foresee the implementation of crucial developments in the country, President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has made milestone visits to the northern region commissioning some developmental projects like the Nkhata-Bay District for the commissioning of the Town Water Supply System and Sanitation Facilities.
