Malawi Congress Party (MCP) National Director of Strategic Planning and Minister of Homeland Security, Kenneth Zikhale Ng’oma, has emerged as a unifying force within the party. Following the recent MCP national convention, where he contested for the position of First Deputy President, Zikhale has pledged his unwavering support for the winner, Catherine Gotani Hara.

In his address to party members, Zikhale emphasized the common goal shared by all MCP supporters: to rally behind President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera’s vision for national development.

Zikhale expressed confidence that President Chakwera will secure victory in the upcoming presidential elections with a resounding 50+1 majority.

Speaking to the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) after the convention, Zikhale reaffirmed his commitment to party unity; “Let me stress that the MCP must remain strong and united to achieve its dream of a prosperous and cohesive Malawi.”

Flanked by Zikhale, the newly elected 1st Deputy president of the Malawi Congress Party (Catherine Gotani Hara) said she will work with every party member in readiness of the presidential, parliamentary and local government elections.

“The convention is over, everyone has the role to play in readiness of the tripartite elections next year,” said Gotani.

Commenting on the outcome of the national convention the newly elected MCP Secretary General, Richard Chimwendo Banda, echoed Zikhale’s sentiments, emphasizing the importance of intra-party democracy and the need to engage voters effectively in preparation for the general election

Zikhale’s efforts to bridge political divisions and promote unity resonates with the membership, particularly in the southern region. His rallies in Blantyre garnered impressive patronage, demonstrating the party’s potential to gain support beyond its traditional strongholds.

As an outgoing party’s chief strategist Zikhale’s focus on communication strategies and developmental projects aligns with President Chakwera’s vision for a united and prosperous Malawi.

As the MCP prepares for the upcoming elections, Kenneth Zikhale Ng’oma’s unifying message remains a driving force, ensuring that the party stands united and ready to serve the electorate.
