Zikhale Receives Overwhelming Endorsements for MCP 1st Deputy President

Delegates from the Eastern Region of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) have overwhelmingly endorsed Dr. Kenneth Zikhale Ng’oma as their flag bearer for the position of First Vice President.

The endorsement reflects the region’s unwavering support for Zikhale Ng’oma, who is also the ruling party’s chief strategist.

The MCP convention, scheduled for August 8, 2024, in Lilongwe, has put Zikhale Ng’oma’s name on the lips of nearly every delegate. Edward Thama, Treasurer for the Eastern Region’s Youth, emphasized Zikhale Ng’oma’s track record of good work within the party stating that delegates are united in their commitment to support him during the convention.

Prisca Chirombo, MCP Chairlady for the Balaka District in the Eastern Region, echoed this sentiment praising Ng’oma’s performance as a Member of Parliament (MP) and cabinet minister, emphasizing his consistent delivery of results.

Chirombo expressed confidence that Zikhale Ng’oma would excel as the First Vice President despite drama surrounding competing candidates, including Brown James Mpinganjira from the south, Zikhale Ng’oma—popularly known as Nyama Zikuluzikulu—is expected to secure victory as the MCP First Vice President.
