Chakwera Leaves For UNGA
President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has departed for the United States of America (USA), where he will attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
The UNGA session is set to take place from the 20th to the 27th of September 2024 and will see President Chakwera’s participation in a series of high-level meetings.
Meanwhile, delegates have started arriving for the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York, which seeks to spur countries towards achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
The summit will be held under the theme “Leaving no one behind: Acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development and human dignity for present and future generations” .
On the sidelines, President Chakwera will engage in bilateral talks with fellow Heads of State, government officials and business leaders to strengthen Malawi’s diplomatic ties and economic partnerships, focusing on the Agriculture, Tourism, and Mining Strategy.
