UTM Party to Hold Elective Convention on November 17, 2024
The Central Executive Committee (CEC) and National Executive Committee (NEC) of the UTM Party have ratified the decision to hold the party’s elective convention on November 17, 2024.
In a statement signed by party spokesperson Felix Njawala, it was revealed that the CEC and NEC convened yesterday to discuss various decisions concerning the party’s future.
Although the statement did not specify the convention’s location, sources indicate that Mzuzu was proposed as the venue during the meetings.
Additionally, the committees deliberated on a potential requirement that candidates for the positions of President, Secretary General, and Treasurer General must have been party members for at least two years. However, Njawala refuted this requirement in the statement.
The meeting was reportedly chaired by UTM acting President Dr. Michael Usi.
