Fatigue Takes Toll on Bullets’ Performance

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ inability to secure a win against Mzuzu City Hammers in their mid-week fixture at Mzuzu Stadium has been attributed to player burnout, according to the team’s technical staff.

The defending champions struggled to find their rhythm against Mzuzu City Hammers, needing second-half changes to salvage a draw.

Babatunde Adepoju, Bullets’ loanee from Venda Football Academy, was effectively neutralized by Hammers’ center back Chikumbutso Henderson, leading to his substitution for Precious Sambani in the second half.

In a post-match interview, Bullets’ coach Calisto Pasuwa acknowledged the impact of a congested fixture list. “We’ve had 15 days with numerous games, which is unhealthy for football. It affected our performance today,” he said.

Mzuzu City Hammers’ coach Kondwa Ikwanga expressed satisfaction with the result. “It was a tough game, but a point is better than nothing,” he remarked.

Following this result, Bullets remain in 3rd position on the log table with 34 points from 21 games, while Mzuzu City Hammers hold 6th position with 33 points from 22 games.
