Moyale Barracks Clinch Raiply National Volleyball Championship Title
Soldiers from the 3rd Battalion of the Malawi Defence Force, Moyale Barracks Volleyball Team emerged victorious in the Raiply National Volleyball Championship, defeating the police side, Blue Eagles 3-0 in a thrilling finale at Katoto Courts in Mzuzu on Sunday.
The winning Moyale Barracks men’s and Vixens women’s teams received K2 million kwacha, gold medals, and trophies.
During the prize presentation ceremony, Raiply Malawi Limited’s Chief Executive Officer Krishna Das reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Malawian volleyball.
Das acknowledged the economic challenges affecting the tournament’s costs and pledged to review the sponsorship package for future improvements.
“We will assess the sponsorship package to ensure its sustainability and potential growth,” Das said.
Volleyball Association of Malawi (VAM) President James Kaunda praised Raiply Malawi Limited for its 14-year partnership, citing significant contributions to volleyball’s growth and the successful implementation of VAM’s strategic plan.
“Raiply Malawi Limited’s 14-year partnership with us has been instrumental in driving volleyball growth in the country,” Kaunda stated.
The tournament was overseen by Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) President Bouchra Hajij, who has since departed for Kenya to support similar initiatives.
