UTM Has No Debt with Mtendere Elections Network, Contrary to VP Usi’s Claims
The Mtendere Elections Network, which managed the UTM party’s electoral process at their convention, has disputed claims made by Vice President Michael Usi that the network is still owed money.
According to Menard Nyirenda, chairperson of the Mtendere Elections Network, the UTM party paid the network’s fees “fair and square, immediately and on good time”.
This contradicts Usi’s allegations, made on Sunday, that the UTM leadership is failing to pay the network for its services.
Ironically, Usi did not even attend the convention, cited constitutional irregularities as the reason for his absence.
The dispute comes amidst Usi’s recent endorsement of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP)-led government, sparking criticism from some UTM members.
