Malawi Awards Passport Contract to Madras Security Printers

The Malawi government has awarded a five-year contract worth approximately USD 29.9 million (K52 Billion) to Madras Security Printers Private Limited for the supply of passports.
This development was confirmed by Minister of Homeland Security, Honourable Ezekiel Peter Ching’oma contrasting that the new contract spans five years, providing a more cost-effective solution for the government.

According to Ching’oma, the new supplier is expected to commence operations by the end of April this year. Notably, the new system has the capacity to print up to 2000 passport booklets daily.
“There is value for money here, because the previous contract with Technobrain was $60,800,000.00 for a period of 3 years, whereas, this contract is for the period of 5 years”, said Ching’oma.
Ching’oma further emphasized that the contract offers value for money, comparing it to the previous contract with Technobrain, which was worth USD 60.8 million for a period of three years.
