Prophet Bushiri’s Extradition Delayed Again – 30-Day Reprieve Granted

In a stunning twist, the Lilongwe Chief Resident Magistrate Court has delayed the extradition of self-proclaimed prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary to South Africa for 30 days.
This decision comes after the defence team announced plans to challenge the ruling at the High Court as the legal drama continues unfolding.
Judge Madalitso Chimwaza, sitting as Chief Resident Magistrate, ordered the defence to submit a formal bail request to the High Court within the stipulated period.
Chimwaza emphasized that the lower court no longer has the authority to decide on the case, and Bushiri’s team may request an extension if delays occur at the High Court.
Meanwhile, the couple has been allowed to return home while awaiting the next steps in the legal process.
This development is the latest in a long-standing battle to extradite Bushiri and his wife to face charges of fraud and money laundering in South Africa, where they are accused of defrauding followers of millions of dollars.
Bushiri’s extradition saga has been marked by numerous delays and challenges, with the South African government remaining resolute in their pursuit of the couple.
