Clergy and Commentators Laud Chakwera’s Public Outreach

Reverend Mezuwa Banda, former moderator of the CCAP Livingstonia Synod, has praised President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera for his ongoing efforts to engage with various stakeholders and the public.
He believes these interactions foster a deeper understanding of critical issues requiring immediate attention.President Chakwera has recently engaged with diverse groups, including religious and traditional leaders, youth, and academics.

Banda asserts that these engagements are having a significant political impact, providing President Chakwera with a distinct advantage over other presidential aspirants leading up to the September 16, 2025, elections.
Augustine Harawa, a social commentator based in Mzuzu, observed that unlike other presidential hopefuls who maintain a low public profile, President Chakwera’s interaction with the public is strengthening citizen trust in the nation’s leader.
President Chakwera’s public engagements have included the State of the Nation Address (SONA) for Youth, where participants had the opportunity to ask questions and offer practical solutions to various social, economic, and political challenges facing the country.
