Weagle Holdings Opens Another Chibavi Supermarket
As part of making sure consumers are provided with quality goods under one roof, Weagle Holdings Group of Companies has opened another Katoto Supermarket retail shop in the township of Chibavi.
Speaking in Mzuzu during the official opening it’s Executive Director, Dr Mathews Mtumbuka said K220 million has been spent on the two Mzuzu shops to bridge the gap created following the closure of more than 100 PTC shops across the country.
“Since PTC closed, there hasn’t been a retail chain of that size. And we are investing in that area.” Mtumbuka said.
The guest of honour who presided over the opening of the Chibavi shop on Saturday, the Ward Councilor for Chibavi East, Edward Kashololo praised Weagle Holdings Group of Companies for the launch of retail outlets which he said will go a long way in strengthening the economy, security while also creating job opportunities for the youth.
Kashololo said Weagle Holdings Limited’s channelling of more than 5 million kwacha towards Community Police activities in Katoto and Chibavi townships creating a conducive environment for investment opportunities.
“The opening of supermarkets in two of our city townships creates numerous advantages consumers providing quality goods and services within their reach. The assistance to the community policing initiatives crowned it all in harmonising the business environment which is vital to economic growth,” Kashololo said.
Speaking on behalf of the consumers, Senior Block-Leader Franco Julius Gondwe echoed the Ward Councillor’s remarks commending Dr Matthews Mtumbuka saying he has worked hard to nurture his dream since way back to the excitement of consumers seeking quality goods within their proximity.
On New Year’s day, Weagle Holdings Group of Companies will also launch a new shop specifically designed to save travellers in the new Mzuzu Coach terminal.
