Chakwera Meets Fleming Fund Delegation And Africa Mining Ministers

Lilongwe,Malawi: His Excellency the State President, Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera on Wednesday had an audience with a delegation from Fleming Fund who have pledged to continue supporting Malawi in building a healthier nation through evidence based interventions meant to tackle drug resilience in humans and animals.

Writing on his official social media platforms the Malawi leader says, the fund has been a reliable partner in the strengthening of health systems in tackling anti-microbial resistance.

“During our meeting they have pledged to enhance Malawi’s capacity in prevention and treatment of infectious diseases in their respective countries” said Chakwera.

The president also reports that on his busy Wednesday schedule was an interface with selected ministers responsible for the mining sector in their respective countries who attended the just ended Malawi Mining Investment Forum.

The Malawi leader also states that in view of the just concluded Malawi Mining Investment Forum, he reminded them of the need for Africa to collaborate in protecting interests of the mining sector so that it benefits local communities first.
