Increased Cyber Crime Allegations Irks Chakwera
The Malawi leader, Lazarus Chakwera has expressed his displeasure over the recent arrests connected to cyber crime allegations in the wake of the tragic plane crash that killed Vice-President Saulos Chilima and eight others.
The President expressed his displeasure during this years independence celebration prayers at the Bingu International Conference Centre where he condemned the arrests of individuals who were supposedly involved in alleged cyber crimes related to the plane crash.
Chakwera stressed that the focus should be on investigating the cause of the crash and finding justice for the victims and their families, rather than diverting attention to unrelated criminal activities.
“We must not allow ourselves to be distracted by baseless accusations and arrests that do not serve the interests of justice and truth,” Chakwera said.
The President also called for a thorough and transparent investigation into the crash, urging authorities to leave no stone unturned in their quest for answers. He reassured the public that the government is fully committed to ensuring that justice is served for the victims and their families.
