Mwakasungula Calls for Patience and Unity in Plane Crash Investigation
Senior Governance and Human Rights Advocate Undule Mwakasungula, has issued a statement urging Malawians to remain patient and united as the investigation into the tragic plane crash that killed Vice President Saulosi Chilima and eight others continues.
Mwakasungula welcomes the release of the interim report by the German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (BFU) but cautioned against making premature conclusions and speculations.
He emphasized that the final report will provide comprehensive answers and urged the nation to exercise patience and refrain from making judgments based on incomplete information.
“Let me emphasize the need to respect the expertise of the investigators and allow them to complete their work without interference,” said Mwakasungula.
He also expressed concerns about the call for a Commission of Inquiry, citing past experiences where recommendations were rarely implemented.
The advocate further called for unity and reflection, urging Malawians to channel their collective grief into a constructive force that promotes unity and understanding, expressing hope that the final report will provide clarity and enable the nation to move forward in preventing future tragedies.
