Usi Continues Rural Outreach, Distributes Farming Aid
Vice President of Malawi, Right Honourable Michael Usi, has been engaging with rural communities, acknowledging their farming efforts and providing essential aid.
During his tour to Nkhorongo, Doroba, and Choma, Usi distributed bags of fertilizers, seeds, and portable solar panels to ultra-poor households, who expressed gratitude for his gesture, especially considering it took place on a Sunday afternoon.
Usi emphasized that his actions are a continuation of the spirit of sharing he developed during his time with the Adventist Relief Agency (ADRA).
He encouraged others to follow his example, stating, “This is the spirit of giving I started while working with ADRA; let others who can do the same.”
However, the Vice President expressed concern about individuals attempting to politicize his generosity, manipulating the minds of the less privileged.
He questioned the motives of those spreading misinformation about his initiatives on social media, saying, “Why should someone go on social media telling people that I will go somewhere to distribute fertilizers without my knowledge?”
Usi’s outreach program began in the southern region, then moved to the central region, and has now concluded in the northern region. He has entrusted other responsible authorities to finalize the work, citing his busy schedule.
