NDP’s Mwenifumbo Goes Solo: Declares Independent Presidential Bid

The National Development Party (NDP) has announced its decision to contest the upcoming presidential election on September 16 without forming any political alliances.
NDP President Frank Tumpale Mwenifumbo made the declaration during a political rally in Mzimba, emphasizing that his party is ready to govern Malawi.
“NDP wants to play politics to your liking so that we shape Malawi desirably with the primary principle of mutual coexistence with other political parties,” Mwenefumbo told the crowd.

Commenting on his visit to the Paramount Chief Chikulamayembe in Rumphi District, Mwenefumbo said he felt greatly honoured by His Royal highness reception when we paid a courtesy call on him at his Nkhamango HQ , Bolero Rumphi .
He emphasised the need to participate in the country’s political discourse in order to foster political , economic and social development of Malawi.
The Paramount, Themba la Mathemba asserted that with the requisite infrastructure development in the district Rumphi can significantly contribute to the economic well being as it is endowed with vast natural resources such as minerals , water, tourism and rich souls of the Henga valleys.
