Malawi Heritage UK is a Manchester based organisation that engages the community, promoting Malawi Heritage, raising culture awareness and community cohesion.

Malawi Heritage just recently hosted the Malawi Heritage Awards that took place in November 2021 at Hulme Hall. 14 awards were given out to individuals, groups and organisations that made tremendous work during the pandemic.

The awards was attended by the Lord Mayor of Manchester Cllr Tommy Judge and Lady Mayoress Carole Judge. Cllr Donna Ludford Deputy Lord Mayor, Cllr Sean McHale. Prof Dr Erinma Bell the Deputy Lieutenant of Greater Manchester and other community leaders.

The awards was well organised and was delivered by a team that was chaired by Mr Mandindi and they did marvellous work.

We asked Mr Mandindi what to expect in 2022.

He said this year will be more exciting as the awards will connect more with the community. We will focus on individual, groups and organisations that are making a difference as role models in our society and we will honour them so that others can follow their good example.

“I strongly believe that we in the diaspora can do alot – contributing in the communities we live in and also offering our support back home”. said Mandindi

He further said: this is why this year the awards will look into areas like Entrepreneurship and Business, community work, volunteering and fashion design creativity.

Nominations will be opened in good time to give people a chance to nominate the people.
