ACB Nabbed Dausi, Granted Bail
Lilongwe Chief Resident Magistrate Madalitso Chimwaza has granted bail to Former Minister of Homeland security Nicholas Dausi who was earlier in the day arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The court has among others ordered he Mwanza north parliamentarian, to pay a bail bond of K1 million.
Dausi has since been charged with two Counts; abuse of public office and neglect of official duty.
He was arrested on allegations that he abused his office by arbitrarily approving an exorbitant and unbudgeted for procurement contract between Malawi Government and One Guard FZE for the supply of Uniforms and Equipment for Malawi Prison Services which was initiated by Ministry of Homeland Security headquarters in Lilongwe against public procurement procedures.
