Treasury Officials Boycot Wòrk At Accountant General’s Office

Government payment systems have been slowed down in the wake of the arrest of nine accountants from the office of the Accountant General, an event that has seen some accountants ignore their duties opting to follow court proceedings in which their colleagues are suspected to be defraudsters.

While acknowledging the situation, Secretary to Treasury Macdonald Mafuta Mwale says Treasury has put in place business continuity measures.

Inside sources have told this publication that it has been close to a week now since the accountants had put their tools down at the Accountant General’s office.
