ACB Probes UTM Procurement Of 44 Vehicles
The Anti-Corruption Bureau-ACB says, following a complaint by one private citizen, it will now start investigations into how the UTM party procured 44 vehicles.
ACB spokesperson, Egrita Ndala, has told the media that after reviewing the complaint by one Gosten Chinseu, “the bureau finds merit for action on the same”.
Governance expert, George Phiri, has since welcomed the decision saying “it will clear suspicions around the procurement of the said vehicles”.
Early this year, Chinseu wrote the ACB asking it to investigate the source of funding for the 44 UTM vehicles. The UTM is led by the country’s reigning vice president, Saulos Chilima.
