Mzuzu City Parliamentarian Launches Four CDF Projects

Member of Parliament for Mzuzu City, Bennex Mwamlima on Tuesday led the Council in launching four Constituency Development Fund projects.

The projects will among others ease mobility challenges ahead of this year’s rainy season which is about to commence.

Speaking when he presided over the ceremony, the Parliamentarian urged the local implementing structures to own the projects by safeguarding the construction materials and ensuring that there is value for money.

“Let us make sure that we safeguard our construction materials and ensure high quality standards of the structures being constructed,” Mwamlima said.

Meanwhile, the Council is expected to launch additional projects next week from the K100 Million CDF of which K90 Million will be channeled towards infrastructure development projects while K5 Million is split towards Education bursaries.

K3 Million is meant for administrative costs while K2 Million is meant to carter for operation costs for the Constituency Administrative Assistants.

The four development projects launched are: Mganthira Bridge in Zolozolo East Ward, Nundwe Cross over slab in Zolozolo East, Galang’ombe Bridge in Nkhorongo Ward and Bushiri Cross over slabs Bridge in Chibavi & Chibanja Wards.
