Malawian Soldiers Complete Multinational Pre-deployment Training

Ambassador Young congratulated soldiers of the Malawi Peacekeeping Battalion 14 today at Chikala Hills in Machinga at their graduation from pre-deployment training in preparation for UN peacekeeping operations in Eastern Congo.

Young commended the Malawi Defense Force soldiers for their commitment and discipline and supporting in UN efforts which contribute to the safety and security of the Congolese people, as well as to security throughout the Great Lakes region.

This pre-deployment training was a multinational effort, with American, Brazilian, British, and Malawian instructors.
