Raiply Malawi Limited says it will this year plant 1.6 million trees in Chikanga forest and other places across the country during this rainy season.

This is part of the company’s every year activities so as to assist in conserving the environment.

Speaking in Mzuzu on Sunday during the prize presentation ceremony to best performing teams and individuals in this year’s Raiply National Volleyball tournament, Raiply Malawi Limited’s Chief Executive Officer, Chrishna Das, said most forests in the country have water sources hence the need to plant more trees.

“This year we are planting trees on 1000 hectares in Chikangawa Forest alone, 200 hectares in Zomba, 100 hectares at Chigumula in Blantyre and some in Mulanje, that is our commitment to deal away with deforestation in the country,” said Das.
