Livingstonia Synod Out To Curb Cholera

The CCAP Synod of Livingstonia has with immediate effect banned all presbyteries from preparing food in its gatherings as a measure of reducing escalating cases of Cholera that has so far claimed more than 480 people this year alone.

General Secretary of the Church, Reverend William Tembo has told Zodiak today Tuesday that this temporary solution is in line with the presidential task force on Cholera against residents preparing and selling foodstuffs in local councils.

Executive Director of Water and Environmental Sanitation Network, Willies Mwandira has since asked other religious groupings to emulate the gesture by Synod of Livingstonia noting that the church plays a major role in ending various pandemics.

Most large gatherings of the Synod of Livingstonia are characterized by the preparation and distribution of foodstuffs to the attendees a situation which may pose further spread of Cholera, especially this festive season when several church functions are common.
