Young Muluzi Listed Among Most Iconic African Leaders

The London based, New African Magazine has listed the Youthful Malawian politician, Atupele Muluzi as one of 100 Most Iconic Leaders in Africa.

In its latest publication the magazine which is the oldest and definitive annual listing of some Africa’s most influential people in their various fields.

Atupele, 44, shares the list with other African leaders, change makers and captains of indutry such as President of the African Development Bank Dr. Akinwumi Adesina of Nigeria, Actress Lupita Nyong’o of Kenya, President Felix Tsisekedi of the DRC and Zimbabwean telekoms enetepreneur Strive Masisiwa.

Young Muluzi, a University of Leicester trained lawyer, is a Malawian politician and businessman who has contested in 3 presidential elections as candidate of the former ruling United Democratic Front as well as running mate to former President Peter Mutharika in the country’s 2020 elections.

He became a member of parliament at the age of 26 and went on to serve for 15 years in the august house, he has als served in various ministerial portfolios in Malawi as; Minister of Economic planning and Development, Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Minister of Home Affairs and Internal Security as well as Minister of Health.

The New African Magazine which is published by IC Publications is the oldest and bestselling pan-African magazine having hit the street with its first for the first time in1966.

Other African leaders appearing on the list include; President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Nigerian  business magnate Aliko Dangote, President William Ruto of Kenya and Moroccan  football team coach Walid Regragui.
