TIYA NSOMBA PULLING CLUBS SWIM TO DREAMLAND
As the race to be Super League of Malawi (SULOM) President is heating up, incumbent Tiya Nsomba Banda seems to have done his home work in order to efficiently lead Malawi Club football to the next level.
Being the incumbent, Che Nsomba, as he is commonly known by cadres, seems to be using the tried and tested reliable old adage which says experience is the best teacher.
Analyzing TSB through his 8 point plan manifesto, he seems to have it all figured out on how Malawian Clubs can progress at the same time bringing the desirable expectation of a good product on the pitch for the football hungry Malawians.
The idea of creating a permanent Secretariat of SULOM which he wants to establish as a corporate office is a very exciting one noting the current situation in which the body that runs an Elite league is operating with temporary key personnel. A permanent Secretariat brings stability and accountability for the elected positions hence it has been longtime coming.
The proposal of having a full fixture list released before the start of the season is a no brainer. Many a fans and clubs have been crying out for these changes and kudos TSB for also thinking digitalization of SULOM game records to improve league management. PROGRESS!
Billion Kwacha Industry? You can tell me that again! Clubs I am sure are salivating for this, we have always said football is big business and the players and clubs need to be primary beneficiaries. Let reports of clubs failing to fulfill fixtures because of lack of resources be put in the dustbin for good.
We already know about the theft in gate revenue and TSB with the current leadership have already migrated to e-ticketing meaning Nonse mumapeza Mgodi in swindling clubs musauka chaka chino!
No country can improve its football without developmental leagues and teams. This is where TSB stands above the rest, we need all teams to have you sides and they compete amongst themselves in competitive leagues. And the proposed Partnership with TEVETA to prepare players for life after football can never be over emphasized, we have all seen how most of them end up after hanging up their boots.
TSB also walks the talk in moving with the times by embracing digital broadcasting, or Streaming. Everywhere football is easily available in palms of potential eye balls and advertisers love these kind of innovations. Not everybody can have access to a TV when the game is on but smartphones are everywhere. This actually means more money to Clubs. This might also mean SULOM has leverage for the sponsor to pump even more cash into the league, a very good prospect.
The promise to make SULOM club centric is another big thing to come from TSB. There is indeed need to make the clubs to feel a sense of ownership of the league unlike the current situation where SULOM and clubs are always at loggerheads.
