Chakwera Assessing Tropical Cyclone Freddy Impact
Presidential Diary: I am now in the Southern Region to assess the impact of Tropical Cyclone Freddy.
The physical and emotional damage I have witnessed and heard of within Blantyre townships is alarming.
I am encouraged, though, that in the midst of this national tragedy we are all pulling our energies together to provide comfort for affected communities.
I continue to assure those affected that government in collaboration with other stakeholders will provide all the necessary support so that everyone is attended to.
We will also intensify efforts to account for those who are still missing.
May the souls of our departed colleagues rest in peace.
