By Draxon Maloya

Construction works for the new Mpamba Market have reached an advanced stage following vigilant supervision of civic and community leaders in ensuring that building materials are not abused.

The market is another local development project following the completion of a Mk44 million Nkhwali Clinic which was completed last year with the specified period of time.

The Ward Councilor for the area, Joseph Chirwa Thula hailed his fellow Councillors for supporting the district Council motion to have the Governance to Enable Service Delivery -GESD funded clinic and market projects implemented in his ward.

“It was not easy to have both the Clinic and a market in my ward with a very short funding window, all the Council members have been supportive hence success implementation of these landmark development projects,” Thula said.

“It is time that the ward and parliamentary elected leadership has to show what they were voted for hence the speedy completion of a number of projects in the wards constituting the constituency, Mpamba just like any other Rural Growth Centre has to grow,” Chione said.

The parliamentarian also stated that apart from Mpamba Market and Nkhwali Clinic other Council approved projects such as Mwambazi and Mlombozi Bridges, Kaziwa, Nkholoka and Nkhokoma school projects are likely to be built and completed soon.
