Zikhale Ngoma Getting Praise for His No Nonsense Approach

The Minister of Homeland Security, Kenneth Zikhale Ng’oma has been rated as the best home affairs ministerial performer since the creation of Tonse Government the media has observed.

The commendation comes in the wake of a number of achievements Zikhale has made since his appointment as Cabinet minister early this year.

The Times Television (TTv) and Radio Program, the Hot Current presenters over the weekend joined those commending Ng’oma popularly known as ‘nyama zikuluzikulu’ among peers for his bravity and sence of responsibility in the line of discharging his duties as minister.

The militant program presenter, Brian Banda alongside his co-presenters, Wonder Msiska and Jonnah Pamkuku who are popularly known for for being straight when approaching issues of national importance could not hide expressing their satisfaction with Zikhale who against all odds has managed to repatriate all the Refugees from the countrysides to Dzaleka Refugee camp.

“The country needs such type of cabinet ministers if we are to progress as a nation, several governments and ministers including Jean Sendeza and Richard Chimwendo Banda have all failed to relocate the refugees to Dzaleka camp despite issuing several reminders on the same,” said Pamkuku.

The Hot Current presenters could not forget mentioning the clear manifestation of the spirit of love and patriotism Zikhale demonstrated when he donated his whole salary for the month of March towards the devastated victims of Cyclone Freddy in Blantyre which led to about 800 lives being lost and thousands rendered destitute.

Immediately, after being appointed as home affairs minister on 31st January this year Zikhale sent a clear warning to criminals and all those breaking the law that “there’s a Sheriff in town police will be ordered to shoot and kill”.

On Wednesday last week, the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) Regional Director for Southern Africa Valentin Tapsoba has promised Ng’oma an outright job at the secretariat in Pretoria- South Africa after his retirement.

Tapsoba says he is happy and impressed with the way Ng’oma has managed the relocation exercise of refugees and asylum seekers in Malawi.

While some Civil Society Organizations expressed some reservations with the relocation of refugees and asylum seekers back to Dowa the State President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has backed the relocation exercise when he met with the country’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations Dr. Agnes Mary Chimbiri -Morande at Kamuzu Palace in the capital city, Lilongwe.

Chakwera told Morande that some foreigners are only coming into the country disguising themselves under the pretext of refugees just to rob from farmers and get farm produce out of the country using informal ways.

Meanwhile, first citizen has stressed that his government will continue with the relocation exercise of refugees and asylum seekers as a way of flushing out illegal immigrants.
