Diamond Destiny Motivates Junior Boxers
One of the estate management agents in the country, Diamond Destiny Private Limited has bailed out northern region armature boxers who were on the verge of withdrawing from participating in this year’s national championship games slated for 26th-27th August at Kamuzu Institute for Sports in the capital city, Lilongwe.
Due to inadequate publicity about this year’s event boxers of the minority sport in this armature category in the northern region could not see the chances coming ahead for them to proceed preparing for the boxing fiesta which will draw Fighters from across the country.
Speaking in Mzuzu having made a commitment to sponsor the boxers in their logistics, food and accommodation Diamond Destiny Private Limited’s Managing Director, Gift Nyasulu said despite having limited resources, his company has seen it worthwhile to assist and contribute towards the development of the sport.

While being noncommittal to disclose the total amount of money that has been given to the boxers in form of logistical assistance, Nyasulu has made an assurance that his company will embrace a long term partnership with boxers in the region.
One of the boxers, a sixteen year old Kananji Kabichi from the Northern Region Boxing Club assured Diamond Destiny Private Limited that their gesture has motivated the boxers to bring home medals from this year’s championship.
Commenting on the development, Northern Region Malawi Armature Boxing Association (MMABA’s general Secretary, Mike Zgambo hailed Diamond Destiny Private Limited for its continued support and for being a genuine partner at this critical time when most economic players are complaining about financial difficulties.
Meanwhile, MABA General Secretary, Daud Shaib has confirmed the dates of the championship while also disclosing that the aim of the tournament is to select youth and senior teams that will represent the country in a number of international competitions including the All African games to be held in Acra, Ghana starting from the 6th of September 2023.
According to Shaib, MABA has already received a funding amounting to K5 million from the Malawi National Council of Sports while a private company, Spark System has injected in the remaining K4 Million to cover the total projected K9 million budget.
