Former minister of Civic education and national unity, comrade Timothy Mtambo has come out in the open stating that he has embarked on an economic and industrial revolution.

Malawians have been waiting to hear from the former Human Rights Defenders Coalition (HRDC) Chairperson who has been very silent since he was dropped from President Lazarus Chakwera’s cabinet seven months ago.

Speaking to Zodiak Broadcasting Service Mtambo said he is not bitter about his withdrawal from cabinet stating that he left global positions with the primary objective to serve the country and not necessarily to benefit being a revolutionary leader.

“Flying a flag as minister was not a big thing to me because I left global positions which were so respectful, I have learnt a lot and am now very experienced being someone who don’t believe in politics of popularity and praises.

Mtambo who is still the Citizens For Transformation (CFT) commander in chief made mention the passing of legal provisions governing the ministry of national unity as the success story he can show if asked what he has achieved as a minister of a politically divided nation.

However, the CFT leader expressed disappointment with some politicians whom he said think they are uuntouchable frustrating those who can spearhead development and accelerate progress in line with the Malawi 2063 agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

He also stressed that there is need for more to be done in the fight against corruption in the country but could not commit to make a comparison of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and the Tonse governments hence appealing for more funding for the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

While calling himself someone who is not a pretender Mtambo openly said that people in the country are frustrated with some unfulfilled promises made by the current government and food shortages affecting progress at both household and national levels.

Finally he called on the citizenry to join forces in the economic and industrial revolution if the country is achieve meaningful progress in all spheres of national development.
